Tim Keller on the Passion of An Entrepreneur

Here is a short, good video of Tim Keller speaking on passion and entrepreneurship. Interestingly, he points out the the last of the seven deadly sins — sloth — doesn’t refer to laziness but rather passionless.

In other words, living a life without passion was traditionally considered to be one of the seven deadly sins.

(Sorry for not embedding the video — technical difficulties; the above link will take you right to it, though.)

Wow, best video I’ve seen in a long time.

It’s also interesting to note that the original concept of sloth included a lack of joy. Joy is naturally tied into passion – but it’s easy for us to focus so much on living for something that we neglect the joy that should come as a result.
Ironicaly, a joyless busyness would be considered sloth when a joyful rest would not be.

I’m so thankful for this blog/website. I didn’t know it existed until someone (probably Tim Challies) listed it. Thank you for sharing your passion for Jesus and for business. Very helpful.
